Zambia Public Procurement Authority -ZPPA- will soon roll out the Electronic Government Procurement System -EGP- to all councils in Northwestern Province.
ZPPA Principal Public Relations Officer INUTU MUSHAMBATWA says Electronic Government Procurement System will allow companies to bid for contracts using the same platform.
Ms. MUSHAMBATWA says the platform will also enable locally based contractors to bid for contracts from across the country.
She has told ZNBC News in Ikeleng’I that the authority wants contractors to be able to bid for contracts without limitations.
Suppliers and Contractors in Ikeleng’I District have called on the government through the Ministry of Local Government to roll out the EGP system to rural districts of the Province.
TRUST HAMBOZI, a contractor, said the EGP will help contractors based in rural parts of the district to compete for tenders across the country.
Meanwhile, Ikeleng’I Council Chief Administrative Officer MUSONDA MUTOLO said the introduction of the Electronic Government Procurement System will reduce the time spent in scrutinizing contractors engaged by the local authority.
