By Ruth Chayinda- The Zambia National Farmers Union -ZNFU- says it will continue to work with various stakeholders in addressing the current challenges posed by poor rainfall and the energy deficit.
Speaking during the pre- Agritech expo media briefing in Lusaka ZNFU Executive Director Ellah Chembe said through expos, the country is able to find solutions to challenges farmers are facing.
Ms. Chembe noted that from inception of the Agritech expo, ZNFU has advocated for mechanization and technological advancements to meet the growing demand of production.
She said the Agritech expo currently has new partners which are the German Agricultural Society.
And Golden Valley Agricultural Research Trust -GART- Director Martin Muyunda said it is important that farmers are encouraged to plant climate resilient crops.
And Agritech Zambia Business Development Director Liam Beckett said the expo has become a leading agricultural technology fair in Zambia attracting various stakeholders.
Meanwhile DLG International Managing Director Bernd Kock said his company has experience in managing agricultural, technology and machinery events.
