A Zambian Entrepreneur dealing in electric vehicles has appealed to the government to consider zero rating duty on electric vehicles.
Spartan Industries Managing Director SANJAY TIKU says while the government has reduced duty from 30 to 15-percent, zero rating it will encourage more people to import electric vehicles.
He says this is key in the promotion of a conducive environment in the face of climate change.
Mr. TIKU adds that electric vehicles are ideal for entrepreneurs involved in the delivery business as their operations would not be affected by fluctuations in prices of fuel.
He has however thanked President HAKAINDE HICHILEMA for his commitment in pushing for electric vehicles in the country.
Mr. TIKU spoke in an interview with ZNBC NEWS at the 95th Zambia Agriculture and Commercial Show.
