The Italian government says Zambia is poised to become a successful economy in the region with its recently earned considerable capital in terms of international goodwill.
Italian Ambassador to Zambia ENRICO DE AGOSTINI however says economic development is threatened by climate change.
Mr. AGOSTINI was speaking during the Environmental Indaba organized by the Italian Embassy at the Zambian Italian Cultural Centre in Lusaka today.
And Green Economy and Environment Minister COLLINS NZOVU said Government is determined to rebuild the economy through promotion of green growth.
Mr. NZOVU said a green economy ensures that livelihoods are protected while water, energy and food security is improved.
He said young people have a special role to play in achieving a more sustainable and healthier planet by instigating change on pressing global challenges.
