A clergyman in Lusaka has urged Zambians to guard the peace and unity that the country has enjoyed since independence jealously.

Fr. SPUNI MBEWE, a Major in the Zambia Army, who recently returned from a peace keeping mission in the Central African Republic says it is very difficult to restore peace once it is lost.

He says it is unfortunate to see some Zambians taking the law into their own hands and adopting riotous behaviours from other countries where peace and unity has deteriorated.

Fr. MBEWE was speaking during a thanksgiving mass at Arakan Barracks Army Chapel in Lusaka to mark his15th priestly anniversary.

He said there is need to embrace amicable ways of resolving misunderstandings in the spirit of one Zambia One nation.
