Minister of Infrastructure, Housing and Urban Development CHARLES MILUPI says Zambia looks forward to building stronger business linkages and partnerships with Egypt.
Mr. MILUPI says the two countries should take advantage of the Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa -COMESA- and the Africa Continental Free Trade Area that both countries are party to in exploring trade and investment opportunities.
This was contained in a speech read on his behalf by Ministry of Infrastructure Permanent Secretary ALBERT MALAMA during the commemoration of the Egyptian national day in Lusaka today.
Mr. MILUPI said Zambia acknowledges the role that Egypt continues to play in maintaining peace and security on the continent.
He said Zambia looks forward to continued collaboration with Egypt in advancing peace, security and stability for social and economic prosperity.
Mr. MILUPI said Zambia is grateful to the Egyptian Government for the technical and financial support rendered to the country over the years.
And Egyptian Ambassador to Zambia MOATAZ ANWAR said cooperation between the two countries is not only limited to economic aspects but also extends to political cooperation in all issues related to the interests of the African continent.
Mr. ANWAR said Egypt has also been keen to develop the capabilities of Zambian health workers by sending training missions to provide training.
He said the cooperation between the two countries has reached its peak following the visit of Egyptian President ABDEL FATTAH EL-SISI to Zambia in June.
