Zambia will next month host the first ever Digital Government Africa Summit which will attract over 500 delegates from 38 countries.
Smart Zambia National Coordinator, PERCY CHINYAMA says the summit which will be held from 4th to 6th October 2023 in Lusaka aims at promoting an inclusive and resilient digital economy across the African continent.
Mr. CHINYAMA says the summit will also serve as the platform to dialogue and exchange ideas pertaining to digitalization as stakeholders from different African countries who include ministers, multilateral agencies and technology experts will attend.
He observed that digital transformation is paramount if any country is to prosper and develop hence the hosting of the summit.
Mr. CHINYAMA added that the summit will also provide a platform for digital development with a view that after the conference the African continent can be transformed.
Addressing the media in Lusaka today, Mr. CHINYAMA said the aim of the summit is to plot out the eras of digitalization in the country and work on them by learning from developed countries.
Mr. CHINYAMA said the government through the leadership of President HAKAINDE HICHILEMA wants to transform Zambia into a digitally economic country by driving digital agendas.
And ZANIS Director LOYCE SAILI, who is Digital Government Africa Summit Publicity Chairperson, called on media personnel to be proactive and start reporting on the upcoming summit.
