Zambia has been awarded $18m grant to boost resilience to future pandemics by the World Bank’s Pandemic Fund Governing Board.

Zambia is among thirty seven countries across six regions and only five in Africa whose proposals were successful.

Presidential Health Advisor ROMA CHILENGI says the Zambia Multisectoral Pandemic Preparedness and Response Project was able to compete favourably because the application was worked on by all line ministries and partners.

Professor CHILENGI, who is also Zambia National Public Health Institute Director General, was speaking at the launch of the One Health Zoonotic Diseases Prioritization exercise in Livingstone.
