President HAKAINDE HICHILEMA and President XI JINPING have held bilateral talks in Beijing, China.

The two leaders have agreed to elevate relations to a comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership.

And President XI said as Zambia and CHINA clock 60 years of diplomatic relations, the two countries must elevate the level of friendship.

He said Zambia and China must also strengthen solidarity and collaboration, practice true multi-laterism and uphold common interests of both countries.

President XI said the TAZARA Railway has remained as a true symbol of friendship and that his government wants to elevate its friendship with Zambia

And, President HICHILEMA has appreciated the long standing friendship between the two countries.

President HICHILEMA praised China for its advancement economically.

The two leaders later held a closed door meeting that lasted over 45 minutes.

President HICHILEMA who arrived at the Great Hall of the People, with First Lady MUTINTA HICHILEMA was accorded a 21 gun salute, while the brass band sang some Zambian songs.

The President also inspected a guard of honour.

Earlier, President HICHILEMA held a meeting with the Chairman of the People’s Congress, Mr. ZHAO LEJI.

President HICHILEMA then held a closed door meeting with Mr ZHAO, which lasted over 30 minutes.

And, Mr ZHAO praised Zambia for her economic achievements as well as good leadership.
