Police in Lusaka have arrested a Zambia Army Soldier for allegedly obtaining money by false pretenses.
ALLAN CHIRWA, aged 35, of house number L85 Apollo Military Camp, is alleged to have collected 76- thousand 7-hundred Kwacha from Nine unsuspecting persons in the pretext of securing them employment in the Zambia Army.
Police Assistant Public Relations Officer GODFREY CHILABI has confirmed in a Statement issued to ZNBC in Lusaka that the alleged fraudulent activities are said to have occurred between August 2022 and August 2023.
Mr. CHILABI said Police have opened nine dockets of cases corresponding to the nine victims who were allegedly swindled in the scam.
He said the suspect is currently in custody awaiting formal charges.
Mr. CHILABI has since appealed to citizens who may have fallen victim to the scam to report to the Police.
