Tanzania on the other hand qualified for the TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations for the first time since 2019 after securing a heroic 0-0 draw away to Algeria on Thursday.
The Copper Bullets of Zambia secured their slot on match day 5 thanks to a 3-0 win over Ivory Coast at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium.
Others who have booked their places include Zambia’s rivals for a place at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, Morocco, Algeria, defending Champions, Senegal, record seven time winners Egypt and North African giants Tunisia.
Six teams are left to finish the lineup for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
