Zambia Airways has acquired an additional aircraft which is also the first ever locally registered Boeing 737-800NG Aircraft in the country’s aviation history.
The Airline is expected to start scheduled flights to all capital cities of the Southern African Development Community -SADC- countries as soon as all the registration processes are completed.
Transport and Logistics Minister FRANK TAYALI says the addition of the new aircraft showcases the airline’s commitment for sustainability and growth.
Speaking after inspecting the aircraft at the Kenneth Kaunda International Airport -KKIA- in Lusaka Wednesday night, Mr. TAYALI said the aircraft is a milestone in enhancing both local and international connectivity.
Meanwhile, Zambia Airways Chief Executive Officer, ABIY JIRU said the new aircraft will help the airline continue embracing the responsibility to uphold quality standards and more flights with the lowest price in the market.
And Zambia Airports Corporation Limited Acting Managing Director COSAM NGOMA said the corporation will remain keen in collaborating with airlines.
