zaca-concerned-that-consumers-are-not-benefiting-from-the-country`s-positive-economic-indicators
he Zambia Consumer Association -ZACA- has noted with concern that despite positive economic indicators in the local economy, consumers are still not benefiting from these strides as many are still facing challenges in meeting the cost of basic necessities.
ZACA Executive Director Juba Sakala says there was high expectation from the debt restructuring including a sustainable economy that will reduce price of goods, appreciate the kwacha and reduced lending rates, which have not yet reflected on the ground.
In an interview with Phoenix News, Mr. Sakala says the economic fundamentals are meant to impact the local economy and allow consumers to have a reasonable lifestyle which is not currently the case.
Mr. Sakala has encouraged consumers to properly track and adjust their budgets while waiting on government to work on interventions that can address the challenges they are facing.
