Economist Yusuf Dodia has emphasized the need for Zambia to bolster its domestic resource mobilization efforts to curb excessive dependence on external borrowing that is detrimental to the country’s economy.
Mr Dodia says a robust focus on domestic resource mobilization will furnish the government with the necessary funds to combat poverty and enhance the provision of essential public services.
He further highlights the importance of unlocking the potential of public entities to operate profitably, thereby generating substantial income.
Mr Dodia adds that there is also a need to augment economic productive sectors, including mining, tourism, agriculture, and manufacturing, toward fortifying the nation’s economic landscape.
