The World Bank has appointed ACHIM FOCK as the new Country Manager for Zambia to replace SAHR KPUNDEH whose tour of duty has come to an end.

World Bank Vice President for Eastern and Southern Africa VICTORIA KWAKWA says Mr. FOCK will be officially introduced to the Zambian Government next week by the Bank’s Country Director NATHAN BELETE.

Dr. KWAKWA says Mr. FOCK has been tasked to look into Zambia’s development agenda that needs the Bank’s support.

Speaking when she met Vice President MUTALE NALUMANGO in Dar Es Salaam, Dr. KWAKWA said the Bank wants to help Zambia to show the benefit of development to its people.

Meanwhile, at the same meeting Dr. KWAKWA said Africa needs more leaders like President HAKAINDE  HICHILEMA who are accountable to the people.

She says President HICHILEMA has demonstrated that his Government is transparent and committed to the development of all Zambians.

Dr KWAKWA adds that such leadership makes it easy for the global development institution to look for more funding opportunities.
