The Ministry of Information and Media has started working on a Bill to replace and repeal the Independent Broadcasting Authority -IBA Act.
A number of officers from the Ministry of Information and Media and its statutory bodies and departments are meeting in Chongwe District to come up with the draft bill.
Information and Media Permanent Secretary KENNEDY KALUNGA says the process is an in-house one which is a continuation of what started in 2020.
Mr. KALUNGA has allayed fears by some civil society organizations that the process is not inclusive.
He says the retreat is considering all submissions which were made by stakeholders at a meeting held in February 2021.
In a statement to ZNBC news, Mr. KALUNGA said the retreat in Chongwe is consolidating the resolutions of the previous meetings to come up with a layman’s bill to repeal the IBA Act.
