A Medical Doctor has testified in the Lusaka Magistrate Court how she found sores on the genitals of a 9-year-old boy, who had allegedly been defiled by a 40-year-old woman in Lusaka’s Chibolya compound.
THERESA MUZYAMBA, a Doctor at Kanyama Level One Hospital, was testifying today, in a case where MARTHA SAMPA is charged with defilement of a child, under the age of 16.
It is alleged that, between November and December, last year, the accused repeatedly abused the boy, and later gave him K10.
When the matter came up before Lusaka Magistrate, MUTINTA MWENYA, Dr. MUZYAMBA said she discovered sores on the boy’s genitals, rash on his abdomen and swollen glands, after examining him.
Dr. MUZYAMBA, who was the state’s last witness, said HIV and STI tests conducted on the boy showed negative results.
She however said dermatology and STI treatment was given to the boy, who was later introduced to counselling.
Magistrate MWENYA has since found SAMPA with a case to answer and given her a week to prepare her defence.
