Zambia U-20 Women’s National Team head coach Charles Haalubono says Saturdays 2024 Colombia FIFA U20 Womens World Cup second round, second leg qualifier against DR Congo is a must win game.

Haalubono was also quick to thank the Congolese Association Football Federation (FECOFA) for their warm reception and hospitality.

The Yanga SC gaffer says they have prepared well for the match working on the mistakes made in the first leg.

“I want to thank the DR Congo FA for the warm welcome . I think we were well received and nicely accommodated, thanks a lot for that we really appreciate it,” he said.

“Coming to the game, we have prepared well, we saw how Congo DR played, it’s a very good team so we have worked on our mistakes. They have two players who can head the ball and that was our challenge so we have worked on that.”

“It’s a very important game for us because if we draw we are out, we just have to win,” he added.

Haalubono went on to reveal that his team has a clean bill of health ahead of Saturday’s showdown.

The former Green Buffaloes Women’s Football club coach is expecting a tough match on Saturday.

“All our players are okay, no sickness or injuries,” he said.

“I know it won’t be easy because Congo DR have also prepared, so all we can do is work extra hard, if we get chances, score and defend nicely. Last time we gave away the lead twice so we have to make sure we defend.”

Zambia and DR Congo played to a 2-2 draw at Nkoloma Stadium last weekend. Lydia Shamalima and Mary Mbewe with the goals for Zambia.

Kick-off at the 80,000 capacity Des Martyrs Stadium in Kinshasa will be at 16h00CAT.
