Chipolopolo forward Fashion Sakala believes Zambia has a very good squad which he feels is evident from how they played in the October FIFA window.
Sakala says the team played well in the two games despite losing the first match 1-0 to Egypt, he is proud of the way the team performed.
The Saudi Arabia based striker feels the Chipolopolo Boys are now ready to compete in next month’s World Cup qualifiers.
“We had very good friendlies, I think the team played very well both games. Yes we lost the first game but I was very proud of the way the team played which is a sign that we have built a very good team,” Sakala said.
“The second one we have won 3-0 which is very good for the team and the technical bench. I think the country will be proud of us with these results.”
“The team is very good. We have built a very good squad, you can see from the way we have played in these two friendlies. I think everyone can see that we have a very good squad. Hopefully we can continue working extra hard. I am proud of how we have prepared for the World Cup qualifiers next month. I think the team is ready to compete,” he added.
Zambia was using the match to prepare for the World Cup qualifiers against Congo and Niger. The Chipolopolo Boys are in Pool E with the two nations, Morocco, Tanzania, Niger and Eritrea.
The match was also being used to fine-tune for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations Group F fixtures against DR Congo, Morocco and Tanzania.
