Moombe Hamobola-The United National Independence Party UNIP has said there is need to criminalize the non-wearing of masks to compel people to follow the Covid 19 prevention guideline.
UNIP National Chairperson for ROBERT MUKENGAMI has told ZNBC news in a walk in interview that UNIP is saddened that despite the country losing a number of people to coronavirus, many Zambians have continued to ignore the public health guidelines.
Captain MUKENGAMI said there is need to start arresting and prosecuting those not wearing masks in public to send a strong warning.
And Captain MUKENGAMI has implored Zambians to help the government fight COVID 19 by adhering to the COVID public health guidelines.
He says even if the government sends the right messages and does everything possible to protect its citizens,it will be in vain if the general populace does not make a deliberate effort to prevent further spread of the disease.
