Two police officers and seven others have been handed life imprisonment by the LUSAKA High Court for aggravated robbery involving K1m.
LUSAKA High Court Judge IREEN MBEWE has, however, acquitted three other suspects in the matter due to insufficient evidence against them.
This is in a matter were two police officers FRANCIS KAYONDO and NEWTON HAMUKAMBA and ten others were charged with aggravated robbery involving One million KWACHA.
They were charged for robbing JENNIFER PHIRI of over One million KWACHA in LUSAKA on November 12,2021.
The convicts were armed with an AK -47 riffle.
Meanwhile, the LUSAKA High Court has forfeited to the state the motor vehicle that the convicts used during the robbery.
