Sports Administrator and Alderman TOM MTINE has been put to rest today in Lukhalo village in Chief Mnukwa’s area in Chipangali district.
MTINE, 97, died yesterday in Ndola.
And MTINE’s family has praised the government for facilitating the transportation of the remains of the senior citizen from Ndola to Chipata.
Speaking on behalf of the family, MTINE’s son HASTINGS said the family is grateful to the government for helping it honour the wishes of the deceased to be buried at the village.
And Eastern Province permanent secretary PAUL THOLE said the government is devastated by the death of MTINE who contributed immensely in the development of sport in the country.
Meanwhile Chief MNUKWA of Chipangali district said the late MTINE facilitated a lot of development in the chiefdom.
