The Zambia National Public Health Institute – ZNPHI has in the last 24 hours recorded two suspected Cholera cases in Nsumbu area of Nsama District in Northern Province.

ZNPHI Communication Information and Research Director MAZYANGA LIWEWE says the Cholera Centre in Nsama currently has three patients admitted.

Dr. LIWEWE says the Institute is formulating a report to ascertain the cause of the new outbreak.

She, however, says the affected area is a fishing camp and some of the inhabitants may not have gotten the Cholera vaccine during the vaccination exercise because they are mobile.

Dr. LIWEWE says the cumulative total of Cholera cases in the District stands at 1-hundred and 3 of which 45 are confirmed Cholera cases.

Speaking in a telephone interview with ZNBC News in Lusaka today, Dr. LIWEWE said the number of deaths recorded is still at four.
