A suspected robber has died on the spot while his colleague sustained serious injuries after the vehicle they allegedly stole overturned as they sped off from the crime scene.
The suspects attacked and robbed Pastor ADAMS MWALE of his Mazda Axela valued at K45,000 around 19:00 hours on Thursday near Kapata Seventh Day Adventist –SDA- Church.
Eastern Province Police Commanding Officer LIMPO LIYWALII has told ZNBC News that the pastor was robbed as he was going to pray for someone.
Mr. LIYWALII said the stolen vehicle overturned in fisheries area along Chipata-Mfuwe road resulting in the death of one suspect only identified as MAX while another identified as GIFT MULENGA sustained fractured legs, a cut on the left heel and general body pains.
The body of the deceased is in Chipata Central hospital mortuary awaiting post-mortem while the other suspect is admitted in the same hospital.
The suspects are from Kawama compound in Kitwe and police have since recovered a pistol with 13 rounds of ammunition.
