The Sensational Zanaco midfielder is overcome with joy by the news that teams can start training in small groups today ahead of the return of the MTN/FAZ Super League.

The former Kiryat Shmona, Lusaka Dynamos, and Hapoel Beersheba midfielder is targeting getting back to full fitness as soon as possible.

“The news for resuming training today is exciting to me, I feel it has been long-awaited,” Njobvu told the ZamFoot Crew in an exclusive interview.

“Personally, my goal is to be match fit as soon as possible. Collectively, I think we all want to be mentally and physically ready for our first assignment in the league,” he added.

The bankers made history by becoming only the third Zambian side to advance from the group stage in continental club competition. The Bankers could not however make it beyond the quarter-finals as they were eliminated by Egyptian moneybags Pyramids FC.

The 33-year-old feels the Chris Kaunda tutored outfit has what it takes to again return to the CAF inter-clubs Competitions.

“For a team like Zanaco, Continental football is always an objective. I think it’s not about the number of games we have to play, but our approach for each game is what matters,” he said.

The Zambia Super League will make a return on July 18th after a three months break due to the Coronavirus epidemic.

Zanaco currently sits in 10th place with 35 points, eleven adrift of log leaders Forest Rangers but they have played 3 games less.
