Speaker of the National Assembly, NELLY MUTTI says former speaker AMUSAA MWANAMWAMBWA will be remembered for the pivotal role he played in taking Parliament closer to the people.
Ms MUTTI says the former speaker during his tenure presiding over Parliament with honour and dignity.
She says despite Mr. MWANAMWAMBWA retiring, he was always available to give counsel to parliamentarians and also guidance to staff at Parliament.
Ms MUTTI said this during valedictory service at parliament today in honour of Mr. MWANAMWAMBWA.
And Vice President MUTALE NALUMANGO in her tribute said the former speaker’s legacy of service with integrity should be emulated.
Mrs. NALUMANGO, who once served as his deputy speaker described Mr MWANAMWAMBWA as a man who lived his life to the fullest and positively impacted lives of those around him.
And in his tribute, Chief Whip STAFFORD MULUSA said Mr. MWANAMWAMBWA’s life should be celebrated as he exhibited exemplary service in Parliament.
Meanwhile, Leader of the Opposition BRIAN MUNDUBILE has described the death of Mr MWANAMAMBWA as one that it is not only a loss to the family but the parliament family as well.
