Chipata College of Nursing and Midwifery has been hit with a critical shortage of tutors.

The college has 11 tutors out of the required 29 and nine clinical instructors out of 22 required.

College Principal Tutor BEATRICE PHIRI says the most affected area is for HIV Nurse Practitioners and Public Health Nursing Specialty.

Dr. PHIRI is however hopeful that the government will deploy some tutors in the next recruitment.

She was speaking when Chipata City Mayor GEORGE MWANZA toured the institution.

And Mr. MWANZA said the local authority will do everything possible to address the challenges that the institution is facing.
