Secretary to Cabinet PATRICK KANGWA has urged the Office of Auditor General to continue promoting transparency and accountability in the management of public resources.
Mr. KANGWA says it is important that the office of the AG continues to serve as a beacon of integrity and a guardian of public trust.
He said this in a speech read on his behalf by Permanent Secretary Special Duties at Cabinet office PATRICK MUCHELEKA during the launch of the Office of Auditor General’s 2022 – 2026 strategic plan.
Mr. KANGWA further expressed optimism that the country will see zero audit queries in the management of public resources in view of the launched strategic plan.
And Acting Auditor General RON MWAMBWA said the institution remains committed to providing credible audits that promote transparency and accountability in the management of public resources.
Dr. MWAMBWA said the strategic plan will give the institution the opportunity to enhance transparency, accountability and good governance.
And Swedish Ambassador to Zambia JOHAN HALLENBORG said his country’s support to the Office of the Auditor General is aimed at enhancing its capability of transparency and accountability which are essential pillars for sustainable development.
