Athletics National team Coach DOUGLAS KALEMBO says Sprinter MUZALA SAMUKONGA is fit and ready to get back to competitive action.
KALEMBO says the 2022 Commonwealth gold medalist is ready to get back to the continental and international scene after missing out on major competitions due to an injury.
A ZNBC Sport Crew that was at the National Heroes Stadium found SAMUKONGA in high spirit and training normally with his fellow national team mates .
KALEMBO says the Athlete should however be cautious with his lifestyle off training as that will determine his full recovery.
He has further disclosed that over 21 athletes will be called for training ahead of the 2024 Calendar that’s sees his athletes compete in the All African games, Under 20 region five youth games and the African Championships among others.
KALEMBO says the target is to ensure that athletes are adequately prepared so that they qualify to global events like the Olympics.
He further says with enough training SAMUKONGA will one day win an Olympic medal for the country.
And upcoming 400 meters sensation PATRICK NYAMBE is confident of qualifying and minting a medal at the 2024 Paris Olympic games.
