The alleged poor state of the Mortuary at Mansa General Hospital has upset residents.
The hospital that caters to a population of over one hundred and twenty thousand people, can only hold a meager 14 bodies at a time hence putting a strain on its infrastructure.
Concerned residents have therefore challenged state actors to upgrade the Mortuary if effective and hygienic service provision is to be attained.
This comes in the wake of about three bodies that were recently found partially eaten by rats in the morgue, a matter that has triggered public uproar.
Meanwhile, Mansa General Hospital Superintendent, Chisenga Chelu, has disputed claims of body parts missing from bodies from the health facility’s Mortuary.
