By Christopher Miti:
Eastern Province Minister Makebi Zulu says the provincial administration has lobbied for over five thousand masks from the Muslim Association that will be distributed to various schools across the province.
Mr Zulu says his office will start by distributing the masks to the pupils that are in Boarding schools who are about 4, 474.
He says the administration has enough masks to cover all the pupils in boarding schools.
He says the donated masks are reusable and that the pupils will be able to use them for a period of time.
Mr Zulu says his office is making arrangements with the provincial health director so that the pupils that are in boarding are quarantined within the school.
He says arrangements will be made so that quarantined pupils can be screened for Covid-19 on a daily basis.
Mr Zulu says he will meet all District Education Board Secretaries in the province next week to further strategize on how best they can implement some Covid-19 measures.
