Zambia Super League side, Prison Leopards has unveiled Lameck Banda as their new head coach.

Banda was unveiled on Monday morning in Kabwe at the Correctional Service Headquarters with the event streamed live on Facebook.

Banda replaces Chris Kaunda who ditched the Correct Boys just a week after his appointment

Banda was unveiled alongside his first assistant coach Bupe Chewe. The duo have penned two year deals with Prison Leopards.

The deal was facilitated by FIFA agent Lameck Sifeku.

The former FC MUZA coach has thanked Prison Leopards management for entrusting him with the responsibility of managing the club.

“I just want to say thank you so much to Management and the command for entrusting us with this great responsibility and all I can say is that we will do our best to make sure the objectives of the season are met,” he said.

Banda left FAZ National Division One side Lumwana Radiants last week four months after his appointment.

Banda was appointed as the Uranium Boys head coach back in June after he left Mazabuka based side FC MUZA.

Banda had a stellar season with the Elegant Dynamites leading the club through a historical 2022-23 season.

During his tenure Banda led FC MUZA to impressive performances that saw the club finish second place in the Super League and automatically qualify for their maiden CAF Confederation Cup.

Banda also led Mazabuka outfit to the ABSA Cup Final where they lost to Forest Rangers at a packed Woodlands Stadium.

With Lumwana Banda left the club in third position with 17 points, three behind log leaders Nchanga Rangers.

At Prison Leopards, Lameck Banda will have to work his magic and help the team move out of the relegation Zone as they sit third from bottom with just 10 points after 12 games.
