The PF has adopted Zacks Mwachilele as its candidate for the July 30th, Katuba constituency by-election.
PF Secretary General Davies Mwila announced Mr. Mwachilele’s candidature during a media briefing in Lusaka today.
Mr. Mwila said Lusaka Province Chairperson Paul Moonga will be campaign manager for while Member of the Central Committee Jaston Mulando and Copperbelt Minister Japhen Mwakalombe will be deputy campaign managers.
He said the Central Committee sat on Monday July 8th, 2019 and arrived at some changes among them is the delinking of the position of National Chairperson for Youths and security.
Mr. Mwila disclosed that Kasama Central Member of Parliament Kelvin Sampa has been appointed member of the Central committee and takes over as National Chairperson for youths while Home Affairs Minister Stephen Kampyongo becomes National Chairperson for Security.
And Mr Mwila said the central committee has also received recommendations for all local government by elections and that the party will participate in all the elections.
He said all party structures are expected to conduct campaigns without any form of violence and intimidation.
And Mr. Mwila said the party will appear before the parliamentary committee to give its position on the National Dialogue Forum – NDF- resolutions as adopted by the Central committee.
He said the NDF was not a PF gathering but a sitting for Zambians.
