The Presidential Delivery Unit (PDU) says it has already made significant progress towards meeting most of its goals.

PDU Head KUSOBILE KAMWAMBI says among the goals set to be achieved is the production of one million tonnes of wheat, one million tonnes of soybeans, and 10 million tonnes of maize annually by 2027.

Ms KAMWAMBI says the Unit working with the relevant ministry is also set is to improve maternal mortality rates from 278 deaths per 100,000 live births to 100 deaths per 100,000 by 2026.

She says the unit is also determined to achieve a minimum of 98 percent Constituency Development Fund (CDF) utilisation by 2025.

In a statement issued to ZNBC News, Ms KAMWAMBI has also disclosed that Government plans on increasing geological data coverage for mining from 55 percent to 100 percent by November 2024, as well as increasing copper production to 3 million tonnes per annum
by 2030.

She said another goal Government is set to achieve is ensuring 8 percent of the population over have access to the internet by 2026.

Ms KAMWAMBI said the goals address key areas of national development from food security to digital inclusion and have been identified after extensive consultations between the PDU, government ministries, agencies, and the private sector.
