Vice President MUTALE NALUMANGO has called on African Countries to leverage on each other’s strengths to attain food and nutrition security and end hunger by 2025.

Mrs. NALUMANGO says there is need to harness Science and Technology and strengthen institutional capacities to increase productivity.

She says there is need for social economic integration to ensure that safer and nutritious foods are available, accessible and affordable.

Mrs. NALUMANGO was speaking during the official opening of the 14th Africa Day for food and nutrition security -ADFNS- Commemoration and 19th Comprehensive Africa Agriculture Development Programme- CAADP- Partnership Platform in Lusaka today.

Meanwhile, African Union Commissioner for Health, Humanitarian Affairs and Social Development MINATA CESSOUMA said Africa can improve nutrition by working hard and diversifying agricultural production.

Livestock and Fisheries Minister, MAKOZO CHIKOTE called for joint ventures for the production of animal vaccines.

Agriculture Minister REUBEN MTOLO said there is need to increase productivity through irrigation, mechanisation and offer credit facility to small scale farmers.
