Vice President MUTALE NALUMANGO has urged traditional leaders to lead the fight against climate change through planting trees.

Speaking when she paid a courtesy call on Senior Chief NALUBAMBA of Namwala District and later officiated at the Ikubi Lya Bana Munyati ceremony, the Vice President said the effects of climate change are real.

Mrs. NALUMANGO says without putting up intervention measures, the people of Namwala risk losing their treasured animals.

She has since commended chief NALUBAMBA for his initiative to start planting trees in his chiefdom.
