mtn-super-league-week-2-comes-alive

The MTN Super League will enter week two of action this afternoon with five matches set to take centre stage.

Konkola Stadium will host a double header as Kansanshi Dynamos welcome Mufulira Wanderers.

Wanderers beat Green Buffaloes 1-0 in their opening game and will be looking to make it two wins in two games while the Mabanga Boys are searching for their first win of the campaign.

Kansanshi Dynamos opened their campaign with a 1-1 draw with North Western rivals Trident FC.

The second game will see Konkola Blades face off with Choma based Green Eagles at 15h00.

In Lusaka, Green Buffaloes who are looking for their first game of the season welcome Perry Mutapa’s NAPSA Stars

The Pensioners will be without Leonard Mulenga and Fredrick Mwimanzi which Mutapa believes is a big blow.

“It is a very big blow because they are very experienced players who had a great season last season. First games are not easy, and we need all the players available to get match fitness. Missing them in the second game means we have to make a lot of changes, which is not ideal,” Mutapa said.

At Sunset Stadium, Zanaco FC will open their 2023/2024 campaign against Forest Rangers.

Fole Malembe on the other hand kicked off the 2023/24 season with a 1-0 victory against the Numba Mumamba coached side Kabwe Warriors.

A Lazarous Chishimba cracker of a goal in the 70th minute was enough to secure the home team all 3 points in the match.

Warriors will play their first game at home this afternoon when they welcome Trident FC.

On Sunday, Nkana face off with Mutondo Stars in the early kick off while ZESCO United face Prison Leopards with both games set for Levy Mwanawasa Stadium.
