The Ministry of Youth, Sport and Arts has pledged to work in close collaboration with the University Of Zambia in promoting Arts among students and young people.
Permanent Secretary Arts CHAMA FUMBA says the ministry values art because it shapes the national identity and contributes to the country’s tourism sector.
Mr. FUMBA says the education system should encourage the teaching of arts from early childhood to college for wide exposure.
Mr FUMBA said this during the Arts festival organized by the Arts, Language and Literature Association in Lusaka under theme “The Dawn of the New Age”.
Meanwhile, UNZA Acting Chancellor ANNE SIKWEBELE said UNZA is ready to work with the government in the National quest to develop the creativity and cultural industries-CCIS of Zambia.
Professor SIKWEBELE said this in a speech read on her behalf by Dr. CHARLES BANDA.
