Government has called on ministries to implement programmes in the 8th National Development Plan for the country to attain socio-economic transformation.
Chairperson of the National Development Coordinating Committee -NDCC- SITUMBEKO MUSOKOTWANE says his ministry will ensure programmes in the 8NDP are adequately and timely funded.
Dr. MUSOKOTWANE however says this will be done by optimizing the limited resources by leveraging and harnessing partnerships with the private sector.
He has however stressed the need to unlock the challenges that are hindering the implementation of the programmes and plans under the 8th NDP.
Dr. MUSOKOTWANE said this in a speech read on his behalf by NDCC Deputy Chairperson PATRICK KANGWA during the third NDCC meeting for this year.
And Ministry of Finance Permanent Secretary DANIES CHISENDA said the meeting will focus on progress made in the implementation of reforms in the agriculture sector which was listed as a priority area for exportation.
Meanwhile Zambia Chamber of Commerce and Industry -ZACCI- Chief Executive Officer JOSEPH NASILELE noted the need for enhanced private sector participation in the economy.
