Health Minister SYLVIA MASEBO says there is urgent need to address development inequalities among persons with disabilities.

Ms. MASEBO notes that the situation is worse for women and children with disabilities who are more likely to be exposed to abuse.

The Health Minister said this in a speech read on her behalf by Ministry of Health Permanent Secretary Donor Services GEORGE SINYANGWE during the National Disability Indaba in Lusaka.

And UNFPA Country Representative SETH BROEKMAN who was represented by UNFPA Sexual Reproductive Health Specialist WEZI KAONGA said current health and reproductive health rights and HIV/AIDS related policies and programmes do not adequately consider the need of people with disabilities.

Meanwhile, a person living with disabilities ALICK NKHOMA said most health facilities do not have deliberate programmes to ensure differently abled people easily access services.
