Health Minister SYLVIA MASEBO has challenged health training institutions to place quality above volumes of students to be able to produce competent graduates.
Ms. MASEBO says there is no need to put interests of donors and funders ahead of quality training because this raises the risk of compromising the quality of education.
She adds that schools should not compete but complement each other to produce the best students.
The Minister was speaking when she opened the Strengthening Health Professional Work force Education Programs for Improved Quality Health care in Zambia second annual scientific symposium.
Meanwhile, University of Zambia -UNZA- Vice Chancellor ANNE SIKWIBELE said this year’s symposium focuses on chronic illnesses and non communicable diseases among others.
And Health Professions Council of Zambia -HPCZ- Registrar FASTONE GOMA said the objectives of the stakeholders engagement is to adapt and integrate health Services research training approaches at all levels of clinical training at UNZA.
