The Zambia Air Force-ZAF- has given Marathon Runner TISA KALEMBA a job following her inspirational participation in the 2023 ABSA Marathon.
The 23-year-old who finished third in the Women’s 42 kilometers race has been employed as a Civilian.
ZAF Commander Lieutenant General COLLIN BARRY says KALEMBA will be part of the service and train with the ZAF Athletics Club.
He says her story is an inspiration and should serve as a source of encouragement to all Zambians.
The ZAF Commander disclosed this during a Press Briefing today at ABSA House.
And, Sports Minister ELVIS NKANDU has called for a strategic approach in talent identification like the case of KALEMBA who was spotted during the Marathon.
Meanwhile, ABSA Bank Managing Director MIZINGA MELU said KALEMBA’s story is an inspiration for generations to come and will stir others to follow their dreams.
And KALEMBA said her aim is to grow in the Sport and will use her employment by ZAF to excel.
Meanwhile, Various stakeholders contributed over 70 -thousand kwacha worth of cash while others gave assorted items in products , clothing, insurance cover and furniture.
