ZAMBIA has minted silver at the COSAFA Women’s Championship held in South Africa.

ZAMBIA  who were the defending Champions handed over the trophy to MALAWI after losing 2-1 .

Malawi scored the opener in the 34th minute through ASIMENYE SIMWAKA but the Copper queens equalised through AGNESS PHIRI in the 84th minute.

Malawi’s SABINAH THOM put them again  in the lead in the 90th minute to end the game in their favour.

The Copper queens have however won the fair play award.

Earlier, MOZAMBIQUE claimed bronze after they beat ZIMBABWE in the third and fourth play off.
