The Zambia National Service -ZNS – has delivered Eagle mealie-meal which will be sold at a cheaper price in all Shoprite outlets in Lusaka.
Shoprite started selling mealie meal from ZNS in all its 17 outlets in Lusaka this morning.
The chain store is selling breakfast meal at 229 kwacha and roller meal at 190 kwacha.
And a check at Shoprite’s outlets at Kamloops and Manda Hill outlets found dozens of people buying both roller and breakfast meal.
One of the consumers found at Kamloops Mall EMMANUEL CHINGWERE praised the government for providing the affordable mealie meal in Lusaka.
Mr. CHINGWERE has appealed to the government to extend the gesture to other towns so that all Zambians can benefit.
Another consumer MIKE NJOVU also thanked government saying the high price of mealie meal was posing a challenge to ordinary citizens
