The Lusaka City Council has destroyed about 900 kilograms of meat, following the anthrax outbreak in some parts of the city.

The meat was seized from various butcheries, abattoirs and meat retail shops, during inspections by the local authority.

Council Public Relations Officer, NYAMBE BULUMBA says in view of the anthrax outbreak inspections by the local authority have been intensified.

Mr. BULUMBA has warned of those that continue to trade without legal documentation.
