Preparations for the forthcoming Lunda Lubanza traditional ceremony of the Lunda people of Senior Chief Ishindi Mankaki in Zambezi District have advanced.

Lunda Lubanza Cultural Association National Chairman BRIAN MUKUYU has disclosed that over 15 Chiefs from Zambia have confirmed their attendance.

This year’s Lunda Lubanza traditional ceremony is scheduled for August 11th to 12th, 2023.

ZNBC’s BRIAN CHIYENGI Reports that Mr MUKUYU said over 30 Chiefs from Democratic Republic of Congo and Angola have also confirmed their attendance at this year’s ceremony which has not been hosted for the past three years.

The Lunda Lubanza traditional ceremony is held to commemorate and celebrate the coming of the Ishindi Lunda people from Lunda Empire in today’s DRC.

The ceremony symbolizes the unity of all Lunda speaking people that have settled in Angola, Democratic Republic of Congo and Zambia.
