The Anti-Corruption Commission -ACC has arrested a lecturer at the Copperbelt University -CBU for Corrupt Practices involving sexual gratification.
43-year-old WEBBY MWAKA of the CBU School of Engineering has been charged with one count of Abuse of Authority of Office.
Dr. MWAKA is alleged to have solicited for sexual gratification from a female student as an inducement for him to help her pass a course.
This is alleged to have happened between 1st January and 3rd October 2023 in Kitwe.
ACC Head of Corporate Communications, TIMOTHY MOONO says Dr. MWAKA abused the authority of his office by soliciting for sex.
In a statement to ZNBC News, Mr. MOONO says Dr. MWAKA has been released on bond and will appear in court soon.
A month ago, the ACC arrested two other CBU lecturers on similar charges.
