Copper Queens striker Rachel Kundananji has been handed the revelation (breakthrough player) of the season at the MARCA Women’s Sports Awards.
This follows Kundananji’s exploits last season in the Spanish Liga F
championship with Madrid CFF.
Kundananji was without a doubt, one of the great revelations of the season in the F League.
The Madrid CFF player finished the season with 25 goals, being the second highest scorer in the championship only behind Spain and Levante forward Alba Maria Redondo Ferrer (27).
She scored against 13 of the 15 teams she faced: Alhama (3), Levante Las Planas (3), Betis (3), Athletic Club (3), Real Sociedad (2), Barcelona (2), Costa Adeje Tenerife (2), Alavs (2), Villarreal, Levante, Sporting de Huelva, Real Madrid and Valencia.
Kundananji only failed to scored against Atltico de Madrid and Sevilla.
Jonatan Girldez was named as the best coach of the season after leading FC Barcelona to the title.
Alba Redondo walked away with the Pichichi award for the top goalscorer while Real Madrid’s Caroline Weir walked away with the MVP award.
