The contractor engaged to undertake rehabilitation works at Kitwe Teaching Hospital will mobilise on site soon.

The works will include overhauling the entire plumbing and water reticulation system at the Hospital a cost of 3.2 million Kwacha.

Kitwe Teaching Hospital Head Clinical Care VICTOR SICHONE says the contract has already been awarded and works are expected to commence soon.

Dr. SICHONE has also thanked the Government for releasing the 10.9 million Kwacha to the institution saying it will change the outlook of the hospital.

He says the facelift will see major rehabilitation works which include the road, and renovation of wards among others.

And Ministry of Media and Information Director Spokesperson THABO KAWANA said the release of the money to the institution is a clear indication of the seriousness the UPND administration attaches to health matters.

Mr. ย KAWANA said not long ago, Zambians were grappling with shortage of medicines in hospitals but that has now been addressed following the governmentโ€™s procurement of medicines.

Kitwe Teaching Hospital Senior Pharmacist LIBIZO NAMANGOLWA said the supply of medicines at the health facility has greatly improved.
