Former Chembe Member of Parliament SEBASTIAN KOPULANDE is hopeful that Government will sustain the distribution of free sanitary towels in schools.

Mr. KOPULANDE, a sexual reproductive health advocate, says the introduction of free education has increased demand for the material as more girls have enrolled for school.

He says with the numbers of enrolments increasing, there is need for more funding towards the distribution of the towels.

Mr. KOPULANDE told ZNBC News that the current 30 million Kwacha allocation towards the purchasing of sanitary towels for distribution is not enough.

The former lawmaker has urged institutions championing Sexual reproductive health to join hands with Government and help the girl child stay in school.
